  • Do you offer adult web hosting?

No we do not offer Adult web hosting and never will. It is against our code of ethics and it is a strict policy.

  • We have a mail server on site but would like to have our website hosted with you. Is that possible?

Certainly, you can host your site with us and have your mail server or other services hosted else where. It is as simple as changing your DNS recoreds (in this case MX records to point to your mail servers) We can easily assist you with that or you can do it yourself from the control panel.

  • Should I choose Windows or Linux? I am really new to web hosting!!

It really depends on the technology you will use on your site. If you plan to use ASP technology or use MS SQL as your database then you want Windows2003 hosting. Else if you will be using PHP or other technologies then you may want to go with Linux. As for price, they are bother offered to you at the same price.

  • Do you back up our data, Can we back it up?

Yes we back up everything on our servers for disaster recovery purposes. You can back up your files and databases from within your control panel. We urge you to back them up everytime you do major changes. However in the event you want us to restore the files, there will be a charge of $50/hr to have our admins restore it for you. If you back it up yourself then you will not have any charges at all.

  • I have my domain name register with another registrar, do I need to transfer it to you?

No. You can easily login to your account with your registrar and update your DNS server settings to point to our DNS servers. You can open a ticket through the control panel in case you need addtional assitance and our support staff will be more than happy to assist you.

  • What is your connection speed to the internet and are your servers hosted at data centers?

We use Tier1 Data Centers Featuring OC-48 Multi-Homed Connections and Redundancy at All Levels. Our servers are hosted at RackSpace and NaviSite which are two of the top data centers in the world.

  • Does Online Rack Web Hosting offer 24x7x365 support?

To answer your question in short yes.We have a ticketing system in place for our clients to use and our response time is less than four hours. Additioanlly we have a paging system that is always available to all of our clients in the event they need urgent response. However all of our servers are monitored by sys admins 24x7x365.
